Turbocharged gets a new home and a new name

Hello! My name is Manuel Amador, and I’m the primary author of Turbocharged. Welcome to Turbocharged’s new home!

Why a new home? Well, simplicity. For too long, Turbocharged has been maintained as a part of The R Zone. While this was quite a comfortable solution in the beginning, Turbocharged has been demanding an increasingly sophisticated Web site.

Thus the decision to split Turbocharged off as an independent venture, and as an independent Web site. This Web site, of course, will continue to grow and get more information for current Turbocharged customers and prospective users.

Oh, and why the new name? Simple: the old name was both taken and wasn’t a good name for the product. Supercharged denotes something heavy and powerful, and while I’d agree that Turbocharged is powerful, it’s by no means heavy. Turbocharged reflects our vision much, much better. By the way, Turbocharged never had nor has nothing to do with the Supercharged CMS that’s floating around the Net and, judging from the demos available for that Supercharged CMS, I certainly hope it never will.

Oh, in case you were wondering: of course, this site is built with Turbocharged. Proof enough that Turbocharged can easily handle complex Web sites beyond blogs.
